The Sneaky Season

Autumn has just begun creeping up on us, though the weather yesterday was warm and sunny for the first time in what seems like weeks. So I was out on my rambles and caught these glimpses of the changing seasons through the corner of my eye.....

Take care.

  4. I greatly enjoyed your macro photos, with nicely blurred backgrounds that enhance the details of the subjects. They couldn't be painted any better!

  5. Beautiful photos, John. I was just noticing the first changing leaf colors of autumn here. You inspire me to go out and photograph with the camera's macro lens. Great views.

  6. Wonderful captures. We have leaves starting to change here already. Not used to it happening this early because it didn't in Maryland where we moved from last year. We are enjoying the cooler temps too.

  7. Conkers - one of my favourite trees and the fruits - so brown and shiny.

  8. These are all wonderful to see...the second from the bottom is my favorite...I just simply love it.

We went to see our girls today for the first time in about 10 weeks, and on the way home I saw trees starting to change color! Fall will be here shortly in all its glory!

  11. Here too there are signs of fall all around. It happens every year, doesn't it? Yet sometimes it still catches us by surprise.

  18. As always a lovely set of photos. Good job catching the bee in mid-flight. I find that something in the light changes when September arrives and even a warm day has a fallish feel to it that has me thinking about sweaters and wooly socks.

  19. No words were needed to accompany these photos of your walk, John, as they spoke for themselves of the beauty that autumn is bringing to you part of the world.

  21. What gorgeous photos! Too early for signs of autumn here but the days are getting noticeably shorter. I missed my evening walk last night because when I looked up from my book it was already dark. Must pay closer attention.

  23. John, you have a real talent with the camera. These are all gorgeous photos! I really like your use of a shallow depth of field with beautiful blurry backgrounds.
