It's In The Air

My neighbour got his lawnmower out at the weekend and the ice-cream man came around ringing his chimes - two sure signs that Spring is on its way. I went out for a stroll on Monday morning to see what else I could find.

And I heard the first Chiffchaff singing. These plain little birds are always among the first to return each year and start up their incessant chiff-chaff-chiff-chaff song the moment they arrive.

Take care.

  1. Hi John - yes ... Spring is in the air, as too the lawn mowers, tree cutters, strimmers, leafblowers (noisy things!) .... the light is amazing and those spring colours ... gorgeous - thank you - cheers Hilary

  2. Winter feels as if it has been shorter this year and Springs prettiness appears to have arrived early - thank goodness for all of our springs beauty - blue skies, blossom, and the birds singing again - lovely photos John.

  3. As always, John a fine selection of photographs depicting Spring in all its beauty. I hope you had an ice cream cone to accompany you on your walk and didn't permit it to melt on your camera. Perhaps that would equally be a sign of Spring!

  6. Those daffodils against the bright blue fence are my favorite photo today. It is wonderful to see those lovely shots of Spring. We are ready for it here but will have to wait a few weeks to see that much blooming so it is good to see yours now!

  10. It's warm and sunny here today, though nature isn't quite as advanced in the north as in your pictures. We've arrived at the time of year where, if I hold a few photos back before posting them on my bog, they soon look out of date!

  11. No fair! You're even farther north than we are I think.

  18. Lovely photos of some wonderful signs of Spring. Haven't heard a lawnmower or an ice cream van yet or a chiffchaff, I'd rather hear one of those:)
