(don't bother to watch the picture -it doesn't change!)
There's a Blackbird singing away manfully and tunefully behind the incisive chirps of Blue Tits and Great Tits. A Pheasant shouts "Go back!" and a cockerel crows in the distance. Magpies and Crows can be heard passing overhead. Wood Pigeons coo "take two cows Taffy" and sometimes I think I can a Robin in the background. There may be others too; I know there was a Jay and a Wren on the longer recording.
Anyway that gives you an insight on what sort of things I get up to if I wake up at 5 o'clock in the morning, though scrupulous editing has saved you from the sounds emanating from the bathroom.
Take care.
Beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job, John. i enjoyed this thoroughly, sans la toilette I might add!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this..I heard the pheasant!
ReplyDeleteThat great tit may not be very big but he is determined to be heard with his tee-cha, tee-cha. Lovely John.
ReplyDeleteSuch a relaxing piece. It helps to stop and listen! Thank you!

That was so wonderful to listen to. I loved it. What a symphony of bird songs you have there. A truly beautiful way to greet the rising sun of the day.
ReplyDeleteThat was beautiful to hear! There is less traffic here but I still hear it most of the time - it is hard to avoid in a big city.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful recording, John. It incredible the pleasant sounds we can hear in the morning if we just listen. A nice way to begin your day.
ReplyDeleteEarly morning birdsong is a delight to hear isn't it? Very few of our birds are precisely musical, but I still welcome (mostly) their songs.
ReplyDeleteIsn’t that lovely! Getting up early is worth it John.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for scrupulous editing! Quite an array of bird song going on there. If I close my eyes I can image being there.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a coincidence on recording, I was woken around 4:30 this morning by the sound of a bird singing, listening on I heard more. Round 5:30 I got up to make breakfast a little early and went outside to listen to the chorus. It was quite loud and not what I would normally hear in the morning. Usually it is drowned out by the noise of airplanes, Trains and cars. The odd thing was a little later a plane flew over lower that normal as if going to Brize Norton, we all went to look at the strange occurrence. For once I missed getting a photo.
ReplyDeleteThey were just talking about this on NPR, John--people seem to think the birds are singing louder these days. Too funny. I enjoyed your recording, very different birdsong from what we have here. both are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you John - that took me back quite a few decades.
ReplyDeleteDelightful sound to hear waking up. We hear bird songs on our patio and watch them fight for birdseed.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful and restful too. I woke up to the sound of wood pigeons this morning and I heard a great tit chittering like that yesterday:)
ReplyDeleteLove love looooove this John. My favourite way to wake up in the morning. Gosh that's quite a variety you have there! Definitely one of life's simple pleasures 💙
ReplyDeleteThe bird songs are lovely. We have a woodpecker who likes to tap on our metal roof. Fortunately this one doesn't start before 6am. Other years, the tapping has started around 5am.
ReplyDeleteThanks John - all I needed was the last sentence ... as the clock bells ring out here! Wonderful recording you've made - love it (the first bit!!). Take care - Hilary
