More Fall Out!

I got rather carried away taking Autumnal photographs around some of the Cambridge colleges the other day so here's some more fall-out from those Fall pictures...….

And a couple more of those strange reflections that look like they must be double- or triple-exposures, but are actually just straightforward snaps. Look back to the last post if you want a full explanation.

Take care.

  1. Hi John - just delightful - really cheering on a day when the winds will denude many trees. What's the bird? and too ... are they begonias - they're gorgeous to see. Cheers Hilary

    1. It's a Moorhen. You don't usually see them this close, but all the wild birds that drop in to the lake in Emmanuel College gardens seem to become very tame - the Heron in the previous post is in the same place. I think you're right about the flowers.

  2. Carried away by fall colours, splendid reds and deep golds, sunlight slicing through those leaves still left on the branches, small creatures scurrying, leaves rustling and crunching underfoot, crisp, cool air, thoughts of hot soup bubbling on the stove? Nah, hard to believe someone could get carried away by that.

  4. Gorgeous photos of the fall colors. I miss them. We are still waiting here and when it happens it’s nothing like it is up north. But then, we also do not have to shovel snow!

  5. Good framing of the couple walking across that one photo...instead of walking away, they are walking at just the right angle between the trees.

  6. I so love that third shot...it is like a waterfall of red leaves.

  9. I wonder how many leaves are still on the trees now after this morning. We have more oak leaves in the garden than the trees we have and the oak is two gardens along from us

  12. Beautiful fall colors. Photo # 6 is one of my favorites. I love the lighting in that one. The reflection shots are nice too. They do remind me of a multiple exposure photo.

  14. Autumn is such a beautiful season you can't help but take lots of photos! (I know I can't). I googled the Aira Force waterfall, and you're right, that bridge is nearly an exact replica of the one at Mt Rainier NP.

  15. It's hard enough not to get carried away by Autumn beauty here, must be even harder in lovely Cambridge. What a wonderful variety of shots you found.

  16. These fall colors were great, John, and i especially liked the reflections and wondered if they were taken in a window or not.Sadly, most of the leaves have been blown off the trees due to a couple of very windy days last week and heavy overnight rains. Looks like you had great weather for your photo shoot.
