A Last Hurrah
Yesterday afternoon I made my way to the Botanic Garden in Cambridge to catch what may be the last of the Autumn colour, though it is possible that some trees may hang on to their leaves into December as they did last year. Here are the pictures I found, in roughly the order I found them. Some are quite subtle shades, while others, like the Japanese maple in the first photo are truly spectacular.

Each image is a delight to see and beautifully captured John.
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful views but the first photo is really breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Those maples are stunning. It's been too wet here to venture out, though the trees are, as you say, giving us their last blast before the winter.
ReplyDeleteActually John that Japanese Maple is just as spectacular underneath as it is on top.
ReplyDeleteThe last hurrah has passed already for us. We had 10cm of snow overnight.
ReplyDeleteEach photo is better than the last, John. Exquisite!
ReplyDeleteYour first is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteThese are great...I like the maple by the water, and then the strange shapes of some of the plants!
ReplyDeleteA delightful set of photographs, love the grasses and the water.
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful but the first picture is stunning.

All quite beautiful. Really captures the season in all its splendid colors.
ReplyDeleteOh, my....I love them all...some a bit more than others. I so wish autumn had hung on a bit longer here. Some of these have the most wonderful feel to them.
ReplyDeleteCan't even pick a favorite here. The leaves in the water, though, but then there's the flower seedheads and the mossy rocks among the trees...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall colors. I keep coming back to the first photo, though. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much brilliant red.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, as always, John.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collection of photos - I love the colours and that one with the leaves against a dark pond (?) especially.
