Hi John, Fabulous photos of wonderful windows into so many beautiful worlds. For me I can't go past the houseboats because that is a dream of mine to go on one (live on one?) one day. Thanks so much! Jane
I think windows are fascinating! They give us a tantalising glimpse of the lives lived behind them. The houseboat window suggests to me a busy, perhaps slightly chaotic lifestyle. The farmhouse, elegant, stylish living. The people in the terraced house obviously like their house plants but how much success do they actually have growing them? ;-) And the last houseboat looks like it might be a very nice place to be entertained with some delicious home cooking. I wonder if that window belongs to the same boat as the first? I enjoyed that John, you had my over active imagination working overtime :-)
I have many photos taken through windows - maybe my eye appreciates the framing?? I know I don't have to pick a favourite, but despite the high standard you've set with these marvellous shots, the chapel one stands out and really works for me!!
Incredible images John - loved them all, particularly the two houseboats - fancy spoiling your light with all those pans - still, makes an interesting shot from your point of view.
Lots to ponder in that selection...shapes, colors, reflections, and what's beyond...I found the farmhouse bouquet to be interesting just because I would expect some roses or blue and white glassware therein and not such a rather modern arrangement-- My favorite is the blue--with the lovely bowl in the window.
Your windows are awesome! I love this eclectic collection, so well seen and composed. Shoot as many windows as you like sir, they are always a visual treat :^)
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I'll try to answer any questions via a comment or e-mail within the next day or two (no hard questions, please!).

ReplyDeleteI am SOOO jealous of your "eye," John. I try to take similar images, and sometimes I succeed, but you've got it, man!

A great subject, - I can see why you keep coming back to it. Windows are so revealing about what goes on inside.
