  1. That bench is stunning. Love the dove of peace.

  2. It is a terribly mixed weekend both for the ceremony and the protest march as well. But the gate and the dove that never wins capture that moment in history.

  3. I grew up with that symbol and it still resonates. We never seem to give peace a chance do we? If there is one common quality among humans of all classes, nations, creeds, colour and religious persuasions it is that we have perfected the art of killing and brutalizing each other. That never seems to change. In fact I am not sure we don’t get better at it; certainly more efficient.

  4. What David said, totally agree. Love the bench. I'm wondering if the concept of peace evolved when only 2 enemy soldiers were left on a battlefield, and they decided not to kill each other.

  5. That is such a beautiful bench. Oh how I wish we would give peace a chance. I've been wishing for that my whole life. (NewRobin13)

  8. I'm so saddened by the troubles in the world today. I hope for peace.

  9. Yes. But I have almost given up hope. People just seem more intent on fighting each other, both figuratively and physically, than ever.

  10. Peace is illusion in this world but we aspire to it anyway! Someday…

  12. Sadly 'peace' is a word almost an illusion in the world these days/ I found the music calming though.

  13. A powerful image of the bench to reflect on upon, on Remembrance Sunday. Will man ever learn to love and not hate?
