A Country Calendar

It's that time of year when we look back over the last year and forward to the next. And it's become something of a habit of mine to scrape together some of my favourite photos to present as a kind of virtual calendar. This year most of the images (for reasons of which we're all too well aware) were taken within walking distance of my house and all of them are from the countryside.

January

February

March

April

May

June

July

August

September

October

November

December

Lets hope that next year we can start to venture a little further from home.

Take care.

  1. All I wish to say, John, is that if these are the results gained by having to respect COVID restrictions, then it has not been entirely a bad thing. But, I do share your desire to venture a little farther afield. The vaccine appears to promise liberation for all of us.

  6. Beautiful photos of the year. I so love this idea, John. I think I may do it on New Dharma Bums. It's good to be reminded of the beauty we have seen in this "year from hell" (thank you RedPat for that).

  8. Wow! Those photos are delightful. Is it my imagination or can you see the light change as the sun rises and falls in the sky as you scroll down?

  10. Lovely to see the Season changes in your images John! They are all a joy to see and no doubt bring back happy memories for you of your 'local' walks in what has been a difficult year to say the least!
You have an eye for detail and that is something special!

Thank you for sharing your 'Country Calendar'

  11. If this was a real, rather than virtual, calendar I would put in my order John! All your photos are just perfect. Would be perfect hanging on my kitchen wall for 2021, which hopefully will be a better year and we can all travel again.
We have made our Spring 2021 reservations for our annual UK trip - which of course never happened this year - fingers are crossed tightly, we are getting old as are my family in Devon!

    Stay well - be safe.

  12. All are beautiful but for some reason June really stands out for me. Colors or composition? Don't know which. Merry Christmas! How soon before you get your vaccine?

  19. I can see why they are favorites...your blog is one that would be very hard to pick just one photo from each month...I cannot even do that for one post.

  24. At last the time is come for this calendar. Time flies as always… regardless of the corona or not. Every year I look forward to your calendar. May and June are phenomenal for the light bokeh and the swaying bokeh respectively.

  27. All of these were wonderful representations of the months gone by John. And the distances they were taken or not really doesn’t matter as I enjoyed all, especially June.

    1. Yes, of course. If you click on an image it will come up in slightly better quality, then right click and save image.
