It's that time of year when we look back over the last year and forward to the next. And it's become something of a habit of mine to scrape together some of my favourite photos to present as a kind of virtual calendar. This year most of the images (for reasons of which we're all too well aware) were taken within walking distance of my house and all of them are from the countryside.
February
March
April
May
June
July
August
September

November

Lets hope that next year we can start to venture a little further from home.
Take care.
All I wish to say, John, is that if these are the results gained by having to respect COVID restrictions, then it has not been entirely a bad thing. But, I do share your desire to venture a little farther afield. The vaccine appears to promise liberation for all of us.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great calendar of photos. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteA lovely way to review the year form hell! Let us all hope for a better one ahead! Lovely shots.
ReplyDeleteA fabulous set of images John.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Red Pat. Lovely photos and a great idea for a post. A digital calendar of events. Hope next year gives you more freedom.
ReplyDeleteI would be more than happy with those lovely places close to home.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of the year. I so love this idea, John. I think I may do it on New Dharma Bums. It's good to be reminded of the beauty we have seen in this "year from hell" (thank you RedPat for that).
ReplyDeleteMany, many thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou live in a beautiful area John. These images tell it all.
ReplyDeleteWow! Those photos are delightful. Is it my imagination or can you see the light change as the sun rises and falls in the sky as you scroll down?
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean but actually May's photo was taken earliest, at 5:30 am.
Deleteohh I can feel the summer brezze!I long for spring. This winther has been very long and still there is month ahead before real spring appairs. The last photo looks like over here on a dark and misty night. We stay at home and make the best out of it as all others hopfullly does to reduce the corona.I wonder how the vaccine went in England !Nobody had sideaffects I quess. We dont hear anything on the news overhere.Ok wish you all good!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see the Season changes in your images John! They are all a joy to see and no doubt bring back happy memories for you of your 'local' walks in what has been a difficult year to say the least!
ReplyDeleteYou have an eye for detail and that is something special!
Thank you for sharing your 'Country Calendar'
If this was a real, rather than virtual, calendar I would put in my order John! All your photos are just perfect. Would be perfect hanging on my kitchen wall for 2021, which hopefully will be a better year and we can all travel again.
ReplyDeleteWe have made our Spring 2021 reservations for our annual UK trip - which of course never happened this year - fingers are crossed tightly, we are getting old as are my family in Devon!
Stay well - be safe.
Mary-
All are beautiful but for some reason June really stands out for me. Colors or composition? Don't know which. Merry Christmas! How soon before you get your vaccine?
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful. My favorites are February and June. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
ReplyDeleteHi John - a great calendar year in middle England. Love the poppies and the dragonfly - special monthly images you've given us ... thank you - stay safe and take care - Hilary
ReplyDeleteA wonderful review of your wanderings this year. Hopefully we will be able to expand our travels next year.
ReplyDeleteYou managed so many beautiful images so near your home. Hopefully next year we will all e adventuring far and wide once again!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos taken in not so great a year. I'm drawn to June and September. Let's hope for wider horizons next year:)
ReplyDeleteAs always a great collection. Favourites: March, June, November.
ReplyDeleteI can see why they are favorites...your blog is one that would be very hard to pick just one photo from each month...I cannot even do that for one post.
ReplyDeleteThese would make a fantastic calendar.
ReplyDeleteYou've done a great job of whittling down to 12 photos. This must have been one of the hardest posts you did this year!
ReplyDeleteStunning photos, especially the southern hawker!
ReplyDeleteI so love all the Bloggers who do year-end posts! A great recap of 2020.
ReplyDeleteAt last the time is come for this calendar. Time flies as always… regardless of the corona or not. Every year I look forward to your calendar. May and June are phenomenal for the light bokeh and the swaying bokeh respectively.
ReplyDeleteYoko
Sorry! March.
ReplyDeleteEach month is a photographic treat John, and like Mary, if this calendar was real rather than virtual, I too would be ordering one from you.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to look back on those warmer, sunnier days we had.
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful selection.
ReplyDeleteJune is lovely.
ReplyDeleteAll of these were wonderful representations of the months gone by John. And the distances they were taken or not really doesn’t matter as I enjoyed all, especially June.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteThose poppies in June.... lovely. Made me cry.
ReplyDeleteI love your annual calendar, you really do have a brilliant eye for a good photo John.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...can I print this lovely calendar?
ReplyDeleteYes, of course. If you click on an image it will come up in slightly better quality, then right click and save image.
