I LOVE YOUR POST INTETESTING TAKE CARE
ReplyDeleteBrilliant collection of characters. Some are more impressive than others.
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful post. Love it!
ReplyDeleteYour photos make people as beautiful as flowers, as compelling as long view scenery, as rich and deep as ancient works of art. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very steampunk looking Border Morris. I know such a guy, his side sport black and yellow faces.
ReplyDeleteLovely folk one and all by the looks of your photographs John.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful collection of photos, John. I've enjoyed all of them!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great set! The best photo I think is the spinner.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great selection of photos! People being themselves. I too like the spinner the best!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is Grandpa on the carousel. Other favourites are the mechanics (so engrossed) and the spinner (calm and thoughtful), and I really like the colourful outfit the basket-weaver is wearing.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope we all have somebody(ies) to walk with us as we get old.
Those were wonderful! I would enjoy meeting every one of them and having a chat.
ReplyDeleteTake care of each other.
ReplyDeleteI love that!
It is a good collection of characters. Grandfather on the carousel got a chuckle from me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bunch of fascinating characters! I think that guitarist is really striking!
ReplyDeleteI scrolled down and saw all your favorite photos taken by yourself. I sighed in admiration. In this post, everyone has appealing tone in your photos. I especially like the first, fourth, fifth, seventh, and the last image. Though I have included people as a part of the landscape, somehow I’ve avoided photographing people as a protagonist of the image.

Wonderful collection of people photos!
ReplyDeleteHi John - how wonderful .. such rich traditions being kept alive ... the bee skeps (great word), the young at heart ... and such riches in hope ... fantastic to see - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteAn amazing set of images John! I say "three cheers" to 'the wildlife warden' but all of your folk deserve a cheer for just being themselves.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely series of shots and you're so right, it's lovely to see a wonderful mixture of personalities and traits all in one place. Love the shot of the man making the bee skeps (never heard of this before so interesting to learn something new!) and the shot of the couple on the carousel. Lovely! - Tasha
ReplyDeleteA really interesting collection of people - the spin ner, basket maker and skep maker would be near the top of my list but right at the top is the wildlife warden!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite of your posts, John. What beautiful people.
ReplyDeleteWow -- what a strong sensitive collection of humanness. Real humanness. Not phone watchers etc. that are everywhere in the U.S. Everyone of your photos reaches out to the human heart. --- barbara
ReplyDeleteExcellent portraits. I particularly like the one of the guitarist.
ReplyDeleteI share your affection for singular people. Are those bee baskets mad for transport or for hiving? Great photos - love the boy band especially.
ReplyDeleteLove them all, John. Especially the first old colourful fellow making baskets. It's grand to carry your enthusiasms along as you grow old as dirt. They make life charming, and interesting..and full! Thank you for a lovely post, full of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteCompletely gorgeous set of photographs John - and a beautiful way of braiding them together. Are your subjects happy to be photographed? I tend to avoid posting images of people on my blog - but you are inspiring me to do so!! Am local to Cambridgeshire too :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent series of portraits John.. when you see people living with enthusiasm it gives you hope that everything will be OK in this crazy world 😃
