Dotty About Daffs

To celebrate the beginning of Spring - whenever it is!

 The Cambridgeshire village of Thriplow is quite rightly renowned for its wonderful show of daffodils. On April 5th and 6th the whole community will be organising the Thriplow Daffodil Weekend with horse-drawn dray rides, morris dancing, music, sheep dog demonstrations, stalls etc etc. But if you really want to just enjoy the flowers any day in spring will do.

    Lovely flowers. We are still in winter -colder than usual-, but we are promised warmer temperatures next week. We will probably quickly catapult from winter into summer. It will be a real treat to see our spring flowers

    These are all marvelous. I don't miss much about springtime in New England, but missing the flowering of daffodils and tulips is one thing I do miss. Not enough to go up to the cold weather . . .

    What a great set of early spring flowers. Daffodils volunteer all along fields and causeways here. What a beautiful sight they are when winter has been so drab. Your photos are terrific! -- barbara

    Lovely shots of clean and bright daffodils. It feels like that sweet fragrance wafting from the PC screen. I don’t know the difference between “daffodil” and “narcissus” and I have used the two words mixing up. Narcissus standing closer to the pond (10th image) reminded me of Narcissus in Greek mythology. Thank you for sharing my favorite flower.

    Glorious spring! An English spring garden has to be one of the most wonderful sights John..I love Oz in spring but it can't compete...although the fields of wild spring freesias are pretty spectacular!

    Love the woodland photo. Best spring thing to happen to me today was hearing the song of the meadowlark as we stopped to take a picture of the meadows and a lake.
