Just a brief post to show you a few of the wildflowers - and the tameflowers - that have detained me in my recent travels. First of all, that field of peonies is coming into bloom once again.....
A few more turns of the bicycle pedals brings me to an area where the wild ox-eye daisies flourish...
Take care.
Your application of various photography skills renders the floral images so elegantly!
ReplyDeleteOx-eye daisies are a glorious delight this year all along the banks, roundabouts, fields and hedgerows, and beautifully captured by you.
ReplyDeleteEXQUISITE. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYour deft hand with a camera is on display again, John, to provide interesting views of these gorgeous flowers. There is so much pleasure in nature for those who care to look.
ReplyDeleteI am not a great lover of peonies although those colours are stunning and en masse they must look amazing. But ox-eye daisies are to die for.
ReplyDeleteSon preciosas las cultivadas, pero también me gusta la sencillez de las margaritas.
ReplyDeleteFeliz domingo
That sweet ladybug poised on the daisy is delightful, John! Love these flower photos!
ReplyDeleteWe have ox-eye daisies here too. They are in bloom too. I like how you included your bike in one of the photos. It's kind of a verification you were on it. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much...I can't imagine a whole field of Peonies. Nor daisies, come to think of it. You get my big WOW for today!
ReplyDeleteEvery one of these shots is a winner, John. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos, John. I love the views there in the fields of daisies.
ReplyDeleteque ce soient les pivoines ou les marguerites : toujours un plaisir de les voir fleurir à la belle saison *
ReplyDeleteEven the ladybug admires those beautiful daisies.
ReplyDeletePeonies are such refined beauties, aren't they? And to have a field of peonies... be still my heart.
ReplyDeleteOx-eye daisies shout "Summer!" and remind me of carefree days as a child. Daisies are blooming here, but unfortunately there are no large fields of them nearby.
Thanks for sharing these stunning photos!
They are all so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe have large fields of daisies here too, and recently saw a field of grass and wild digitalis pendleton. So pretty. But a field of peonies? It boggles the mind! I can imagine how sweet the aroma must have been, probably filling the air.
ReplyDeletePenstemon, not pendleton. Stupid autocorrect.
ReplyDeletePeonies are my favourite flowers. That’s quite a field of daisies! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteYou take great photos!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDo peonies grow wild or was that field of peonies planted?
ReplyDeleteThey are a commercial crop, mostly sold through florists, but there's always more than they are able to harvest. They've also sold some on a pick-your-own basis some years.
DeleteI have never seen a field of peonies. What a thrill that would be!
DeleteBeautiful ❤️
ReplyDeleteSensational! A field of peonies on your doorstep, how absolutely wonderful to have, along with the 'wild' daisy field! This post was the perfect start to my day!
ReplyDeleteHi John - fields of peonies ... there's not much that could be better - while the natural ox-eye daisies are great to see too. The poppies are coming out down here ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteWow! The photos are amazing!
ReplyDeleteLike that picture of the bike in the grass.
ReplyDeleteJust caught up with your last two posts. What wonderful photos as always. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou captured these flowers so beautifully, John. I liked both the closeups (macros) and the low-angle shots. Also the use of a larger lens opening created a wonderfully soft out-of-focus image, which I believe others refer to as "bokah.".
ReplyDeleteLovely images. You always shoot some really special flora shots John.
