Very creative faces and costumes. I wonder how this straw bear festival evolved. It certainly looked like the community was enjoying it all. Thanks for the wonderful video. barbara
I did 5 posts on The Whittlesea Straw Bear Festival recently, the second of which included what I know about how the event evolved. Here are the links:

Good morning John, that's a great collection of photos, and the music was great too. I have never heard of the straw bear festival and would also love to know how it evolved. I will enjoy having a look online. It's fun to find these things out when visiting blogging friends, certainly peaks my interest.
Brilliant stuff. I should check this festival out. Not a huge fan of some folk music, but this festival looks enormous fun, I love the traditions, dancing and the stories behind it all - there must be stuff there for 'A Bit About Britain'! Admired your previous posts on this.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I'll try to answer any questions via a comment or e-mail within the next day or two (no hard questions, please!).
I did enjoy them John .. I enjoyed the soundtrack accompanying them very much too, tres joli :)
ReplyDeletePerfect timing. Today David and I were remembering our local Morris dancers we saw last year. Great photographs and music, thank you.
