One Morning In February

If you're passing along the minor road towards the hamlet of Frog End on an early spring morning, and you happen to spy a bike leaning against a tree, right beside a gate where a footpath leads through a tiny wood, you can be sure that it's reached that time of year once again. A time when an aging man from a neighbouring village pedals laboriously this way to take a few photos to try to lift hearts and perhaps raise a little tide of jealousy among a handful of people scattered across some of the world's less temperate climes. Yes, it's snowdrop time in Southern England!

Take care.

  5. My first thought was you haven't locked the bike up but the open gate just invites you in. A glorious spread of snowdrops and worth waiting for to uplift the heart. Thank you for the glimpse of a future into the New Year.

  20. Merece la pena pedalear hasta allí y más si el tiempo es de primavera, ya no hace frío y el campo se llena de esas hermosas flores, que merece la pena fotografiar.

  22. Whag a stunning display of snowdrops. I saw some in St James's park, central London yesterday and thought I was lucky to see so many. But you seem to have found snowdrop central and yes I am jealous.

  24. Oh my gosh. I feel the need to be inside those pictures. How lovely! A reminder of what is to come. I look out at the gray day unfolding outside my window, and remind myself of what is to come. Thanks for that.
