A Sunday morning stroll that began with a misty dawn and gradually transformed into a bright and clear day.
The village street at daybreak.
Early sun dissolving the mist.
An unusual view of the cottage on the corner.
Gnarly roots and leaves.
A rough fence.
The first rays of the sun.
Frosted grasses.
The poplar row.
Hieroglyphics.
Magical Melwood.
Red hot.
Footbridge over the River Mel.
Small ghost threatens to throw half a brick
at passing photographer!
Take care.
Stunning photos. Thank you. (My favourite is the footbridge.)
ReplyDeleteI love all of these photos. Each one captures a moment of winter that is so beautiful. And... you made me laugh with that very threatening ghost about to throw a half rock at a photographer. I'm going to be very careful in the future. LOL!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos- love the fence, and the ghost of course!
ReplyDeleteAh, the morning mist and a walk about...loved seeing all these photos and especially your icy ghost threatening the brave photographer in spite of the brick threat!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful and evocative.
ReplyDeleteI love foggy, frosty mornings. Great pics!
ReplyDeleteNice one! The best time of the day
ReplyDeletePassing photographer surely had it coming to him!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures. Really, you do have a knack for finding beauty virtually in any setting.
Splendid frost photos. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI am always happy when I see you have posted. The frost must have been quite something! As usual, I cannot really pick a favorite here. But that last shot made .e laugh out loud! Hope you have a good week, John.
ReplyDeleteYour photos catch the moment beautifully. I love the cottage framed by two trees.
ReplyDeleteHi John - I gather you're in freezing fog up there ... it looks cold - while your photos make me think of John Clare's day ... especially the cottage one - without the car and its lights! Cheers - hope it warms up for you - oand/r you have plenty of hot chocolate to hand ... Hilary
ReplyDeleteDebes ir muy abrigado, porque el frío se plasma en tus bellas imágenes. Me gusta la niebla que has captado en tus fotografías y la belleza del lugar.
ReplyDeleteIncredible mist and beautiful winter sceneries
ReplyDeleteWhat nature can add to our scenery…the fog, the frost! Wonderful photos, John!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding photos and captions, John. You really are amazing! You capture the most interesting details. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLove your small ghost - don't be scared of him - half an hour of sunshine will soon finish him off. I have just recommended a friend who doesn't blog but is a real nature l over to have a look at your work via my side bar.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place you live in.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteYour lovely images capture the current weather perfectly - particularly like the frosted poplar trees complimented by the hoar frost foreground.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a wonderful variety of beautiful photos. Early morning, sun rising, misty and frosty, you got them all, John. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThese winter conditions make for amazing photos. Love the footbridge one.
ReplyDeleteThe last one is marvelous. You nailed it on what it showed.
ReplyDeleteNice frost!
ReplyDeleteJohn, thank you for another most enjoyable walk.
ReplyDeleteI see that although I am Weaver I have come out as anonymous above when I tell you your ghost will soon disappear - my friends did visit and loved your photos. While I am on may I say too that that is a super line of poplars - it is years since I saw one - not many up here in Yorkshire. Weaver
ReplyDeleteAmazing photography John.
ReplyDeleteWhile your walks are always enjoyable, John, for the images presented, this one was notable for both the photos and the accompanying text. The frost on the red berries and in the fields was beautiful. My favorites here were gnarly roots and leaves and hieroglyphics.
ReplyDeleteFrost-crisped leaves always catch my eye when walking. It is the bare bones of trees and twigs, fence posts and the like which must be appreciated this time of year.
ReplyDeleteExquisite beauty captured in every image! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful morning!
