....is nothing more grand than the common snowdrop. And a "galanthophile" is a literally a lover of snowdrops, though it's usually used to refer to a collector of the many varieties of this little, unassuming flower. Here's a small collection which I made yesterday afternoon in my local patch of woodland......
Just the thing to brighten up the day.
Take care.
Simply glorious. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful John ... stunning, especially seeing the aconites too ... gorgeous - thank you ... Hilary
ReplyDeleteSnowdrops always brighten your day, I look out at the ones in my Garden and love seeing them
ReplyDeleteThey represent winter, ice cold. Beautiful photos though, there are I think quite a few hybrids of snowdrops.
ReplyDeleteIt would be lovely to see snowdrops in February. We have about another four weeks before they will start showing here.
ReplyDeleteAnd it worked. Day brightened, spirits lifted. Great captures, John.
ReplyDeleteJust simple sweet little early snowdrops...yes, I can see becoming addicted to them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for brightening my day too.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the snowdrops there. Such a beautiful little burst of springtime... just when we need it. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't take much to brighten a person's day in the winter. Beautiful captures, John
ReplyDeleteHow encouraging to know that there are flowers to come soon.
ReplyDeleteMother Nature has created some beautiful visions. All we need to do is look for them. This is really, really nice! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. My daffodils and narcissus have no flowers this year. The winter robins never arrived . It’s been a strange season.
ReplyDeleteI just caught up on your last three posts - wonderful photos as always. My favourites are the little owls in their wood pile and the snowdrops. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely. None of that here for a couple of months.
ReplyDeleteAmazing (while we still have a foot of snow) and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteWe have a different kind of snowdrops!
The second photo is just magical. It's so hard to believe that you have flowers in bloom already. Here, everything is still underground, although there are few hopeful signs of green. But snow can still happen anytime.
ReplyDeleteI am sure glad I don't have to choose just one as a favorite. They are all beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Perfect! Thank you for sharing.
