Those Magnificent Men In Their Ploughing Machines

 ...and several magnificent women too.



It was enjoyable last year and they were out in force again last weekend; the Cambridgeshire Vintage Tractor Run passed through several villages, raising money for the National Health Service as they went.



To make things a little different this year we headed to the nearby village of Barrington, the beauty of which I've shown you before. It was a good idea and one that many other people had too - they make quite a carnival of it in Barrington. Here are some of the many photos I took.....








































Last year they raised £3,500 but I'm sure it will be more this year. And finally, this was nothing to do with tractors, but I couldn't resist photographing this throwback to the 1960s that I saw parked up in the village:

    Wonderful John - excellent photos ... and they all looked as though they were enjoying themselves ... is that a Lambretta ... great remembrances and I'm sure they raised a fair amount for the NHS ... cheers Hilary

    Community spirit at its best, and they raised money for a good cause too. Even the notoriously fickle English weather cooperated.

    They are all to be applauded, what a magnificent sight it must have been and for such a worthy cause!

    The pristine looking scooter brings back a few memories. It certainly looks cherished by someone.

    Apprently that scooter owned by lesis nancy . She loves to see chaps on tractors .think pictures coveredthe prarade well well done with photos chaps r john....

    I have never been a motorcycle with its own spare and there are a lot of motorcycles traveling through New Hampshire this time of year. Good weather and no helmet law.
    But what a mixture of tractors. Do tractors have horns to blow as they go past? On the list of activities here in my township in August is a tractor pull. That should be interesting to see.
