A Year In The Garden

One of the rewards of having made regular visits to the Botanic Garden in Cambridge throughout the year is that, while outside it's darkest, dankest and dreariest December, I can randomly wander through a year's worth of glorious colour, just a couple of clicks away on the computer. Perhaps you'll join me.....

Take care.

  3. You are indeed fortunate to have this gem of a facility so close to you, and as you say you can revel in your photographs on a dark and dreary winter’s day.

  6. As we head off into the shortest day it is a lovely thought to remember just what lies ahead for us next year. Great photo of the Yew? cuttings, it would make a lovely curtain fabric design.

  13. Wonderful photos, John. They would brighten up any day, not only these darkest ones around the winter solstice.
Do you know the name of the yellow and bordeaux flower of the ninth photo? I had similar ones in a seed mix. Now when I try to google it, I think it could be Coreopsis tinctoria (plains coreopsis).

    Merry Christmas!

    1. That photo was taken in a experimental trial plot for seed-mixes so there was no labelling on it. It certainly looks like plains coreopsis to me too.
