We interrupt normal service to bring you news of snow. It's been so long since we had any sensible amount that dads were having to show their little ones how to built snowmen and throw snowballs. It was ideal for the purpose too as it was wet, sticky stuff. Big kids went out with their cameras.
This poor fellow was waiting while his person popped into the village shop. Not everyone enjoyed the snow.
(We will get back to our walk in the Mimram Valley in the next post. Promise.)
Take care.
Great snowy scenes!
ReplyDeleteYou can interrupt with glorious shots like this anytime John! Sometimes I feel so deprived not being able to see and take photos like these, not that for one moment I think I could take such wonderful images!
ReplyDeleteLooks c...c...cold! That poor doggie.
ReplyDeleteYou did the snowy scenes justice, John. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful, love the snow on the cottages and dripping of the berry trees. Hope the dog was soon taken home to get dry and warm:)
ReplyDeleteIt does pretty things up, doesn't it? We've had the odd bit of snow this fall but tomorrow we will get the real deal with 10-15 cm of snow.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the snow there. Beautiful photos!
ReplyDelete2010 white Christmas in Essex - so not that long ago. Mind you it took a two hour round trip to take my boys to work, normally a half hour journey, because of no gritting and all trains were cancelled!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenes :)
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos. The first snows of the winter are always welcome and fun.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of a proper snowfall! The berries covered in snow would make a great Christmas card!
ReplyDeleteJohn, these are glorious...wonderful....each one is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteHurray for snow! Fabulous shots.
ReplyDeleteSuch a joy to look at your wonderful photos, and then, go back and look again! Thank you.

Beautiful winter photos, John. I hope the dog's owner didn't leave him sit there too long..
ReplyDeleteThose red berries (3rd pic from end) are cotoneaster, they look splendid in the snow.
ReplyDeleteBTW it snowed about 10cm overnight here in S Ontario too, the first significant snowfall of the winter. Life continues as normal here no matter how deep the snow is.... but I know from experience that a tiny bit of snow brings England to its knees.
Snow is a wonderful treat for us too, though, I am not as enthusiastic as I once was. Now I worry about loss of power and broken water lines. We had a near blizzard here this weekend while many trees still had their leaves and the weight of the snow drags down tree limbs and power lines. I'm such a wimp now.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I did fill my camera and phone with photos while admiring the gorgeous Christmas landscapes.
Your photos are lovely!
Don't tell Hubby, but sometimes I miss snow! Your photos are just wonderful and the snow-covered world looks magical.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos John - loved seeing a beautiful England .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThe snow looks wonderful in your photos. I like the snow covered sign in the first photo and I really feel sorry the dog waiting in the snow for his people.
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty! These look like Christmas cards.
ReplyDeleteSo very very beautiful, like Christmas fairy tale.
ReplyDeleteThe wet snow is good, it stays in the trees and makes everything so white. This is a beautiful moment (before the snow will melt away)..
I believe you enjoy this snow. We still have some snow (only a bit), but it's dirty and wet.
Beautiful photos John, a magical winter wonderland. I hope the dog didn't have to wait too long. I think I would have taken mine in with me.
