The gardens look wonderful, I'd enjoy wandering round there. I seem to remember there was a lovely herb garden - or am I confusing it with somewhere else?
stately gardens and Hatfield House is remarkable...oh and the loely old tree and the avenue of clipped trees. I wonder what type they are and I know there would be a name for that manner of training/clipping. They sure look impressive.
It is a beautiful place, impeccable tended. I wish I didn't always translate wonderful places like this into the amount of money it takes to maintain it.

Always great to see a tree allowed to grow to its full potential (photo 5), although the shaped ones are fun. The Canada geese look very handsome, belying their peskier habits. Such interesting gardens ranging from formal to natural -certainly a very pleasant place for a walk or a virtual walk for us.
