I remember as a small child going round the windows of my grandfather's farmhouse to see the frost patterns. As ever, your photography skills do justice to the subject.
Frost is fascinating. The frost in your pics. is very feathery looking. I really like the extra sparkle in the second to last pic., and the sweeping landscape of the first one, but they are all very striking.
Great photos, like the second one down especially and like Marianne I have memories of childhood winter windows sometimes on the inside as well as out:)
Lovely shots of the nature’s art! The images work on my imagination poetically. Frost looks like waves, feathers, icy foliage, a part of Big Wave by Katsushika Hokusai (6th), and the globe frozen in ice. It’s going to be the coldest winter in modern history in my part of the world. Brrrr…! Stay warm.
All of the shots are of frost on two cars which I found parked by the roadside on Sunday morning. They were all taken with the idea of looking like landscapes or close-ups of plants. Details of each shot: 1) A straight shot of the roof of one of the cars, looks to me like a desert or lunar landscape. 2) Flowers on the bonnet (hood) of the same car. 3) Tropical foliage discovered in the tinted windows, which is what is giving the green cast. 4) The roof of the second car looking like a barren Antarctic landscape 5) A close-up of frost on the paintwork. 6) Waves crashing against rocks or a picture of part of a frozen windscreen and 7) Surface of an icy planet - this one received a lot of help from the computer, the whole image was distorted using the distortion correction setting for the opposite of its intended purpose, then the colour balance was shifted to give the blue, icy feel. All the others are more or less straight shots with just a little cropping and sharpening.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I'll try to answer any questions via a comment or e-mail within the next day or two (no hard questions, please!).

ReplyDeleteWOW! Nice photos!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought these were aerial shots. Gorgeous abstract designs made my mother nature.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's chilly there too. I hope we have some paintings by Jack Frost on our windows tomorrow morning. Stay warm cousin!
