Your shot of Peterhouse College really caught my eye. I love the way the light is working through the arches. The peeling paint is pretty nice, too. What a contrast from the stateliness of the college!
I read a mystery last week with a Cambridge setting and the Backs were mentioned as a good place to walk and think--or so they might have been in the 1930's of the book. Nice to add these real life photos to the mental images conjured by the writer. I suspect the layout of all these grand courts and buildings would be daunting to me--no sense of direction!
The light in the first photo is wonderful - and, of course, the buildings themselves are nothing to sneeze at. The peeling paint reminds me of the bark on my ninebark bushes.
I’m glad that such beautiful and interesting photos as these were not forgotten completely. How happy the students are to be able to learn in such a beautiful buildings! I’d like to be in Peterhouse College in person.
