I'd love to make that journey. I like your last photo of what look like Cormorants all in a row:)Rosiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04733563829902335223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3404276749629719070.post-18168313275381013712011-09-05T08:39:48.360+01:002011-09-05T08:39:48.360+01:00Thanks for all comments.

The advantage of the bus is that it can take to the streets once in the city. The guided section avoids the busy and often stationary A14 road thus saving on journey time. Having said that I would have thought that a strip of tarmac along the old railway would have done the job at much less cost. I'm also wondering how the guided route will fare during snow or ice. We use the word 'hide' to denote a building whereas 'screen' to me means just a wall with viewing apertures.<br />Dianne: Yes, a great reserve especially in winter when lots of migratory wildfowl make an appearance.John "By Stargoose And Hanglands"https://www.blogger.com/profile/00832873074550725579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3404276749629719070.post-1360491210503446532011-09-04T22:54:22.844+01:002011-09-04T22:54:22.844+01:00Sounds like a great nature reserve John and now it...Sounds like a great nature reserve John and now it's only a bus trip away!Diannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02806482148547283594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3404276749629719070.post-3236385758278621392011-09-04T19:37:49.761+01:002011-09-04T19:37:49.761+01:00Interesting concept, John, but I would have though...Interesting concept, John, but I would have thought a dedicated rail line would have been as cheap to build and cheaper to operate. Was there a powerful lobby promoting this concept? But now that you have it, it looks to be convenient. I also enjoyed learning a new British term, "hide." We call them "blinds."
