I'm always astonished at the peaceful variety of the English countryside - old rail lines, canals, footpaths, and the buildings- and your freedom to walk anywhere. I don't recall seeing a ford for vehicles beside a bridge for pedestrians, but then we haven't spent much time in English villages. I'm inspired by the format of your blog too. Giving some thought as to how I can tell more of a story rather than just pictures and captions.
