Red, White And Green

As I wrote in my last post about the Fellows' Garden at Trinity College, there were other impressive flower beds to be seen throughout the site. The colourful display below could be seen alongside the path which leads from Queens Road to Trinity Bridge and on to the college itself. And it could all be seen for free by anyone caring to wander that way. You will notice that things can get rather crowded down by the river on fine days. There's not much else to be said - just let three simple colours talk for themselves....

Take care.

  1. These are such pretty views, John. The combination of red and white flowers in the fresh Spring green works so well.

  6. So crisp!
Any reason for the red and white combination?

    1. Possibly because the college's coat of arms is predominantly red and white, though the college scarf is dark blue, red and gold, while the rugby team and rowing club's colour is dark blue.

  10. Red white and green, just like the Italian flag!!!
Beautiful combination of flowers. I can hardly wait until spring flowers appear in my corner of S Ontario. Still cold here although it's sunny today.

  11. Good colour combination. The tulips could be mistaken for poppies.

  12. Red and white - those are Canadian colours! We are celebrating 150 years this year. Such a young, young country.

  13. Hi John - stunning ... but your fault for picking a sunny day to venture out - not sure what you're meant to do otherwise ... but crowded humanity tends to sally forth on those sorts of days?! Amazing photos you've given us ... lovely - cheers Hilary

  22. So very beautiful! I almost can't believe these images are real...
especially when I think of our slush and grey clouds. Spring is late this year. If there's a cold wind blowing there, it may well come from here. Sorry!
    Take care!
