Searching The Desert For These Blues

You might go across the desert
Might travel through some mountain range

You might go across the desert
Travel through some mountain range

Ride through that lonesome canyon
And wind up in a place so strange

You might go across the desert
You might go across the deep blue sea

You might go across the desert
Might go across the deep blue sea

You might find a whole world waitin'
Inside of some old broken tree

Take care.

  1. For a moment There one side of my mind was saying maybe he really has gone off to photograph the desert. But the other side of my brain was saying that's an interesting old stump.

  4. Wonderful photos! Made me think of Blake's poem "To see a world in a grain of sand..." You saw the desert in an old broken tree, and in your photos I saw it too! Thank you for that.

  8. Oh my word John, your photos are beautiful. I’m going back a few posts - the one of the blue, black and white duck feathers is stunning, it’s so clear, it looks as if you could touch it and feel the soft down. I love ducks, they have such expressive faces. Barton looks very picturesque, the school sign is a gem and the church is lovely, it’s good that a lot of old churches are being looked after properly now. Your Carman post is fun. And what can I say about your latest post but WOW, very, very clever, I thought you were on holiday in Colorado! Stunning photos and gorgeous colours, and yes I can see the monster too. Your posts are always informative and delightful.

  9. Very reminiscent of my travels through New Mexico and Arizona and Colorado....! Very innovative photos. And now I'm going to look for the monster in the 3rd image.

  10. What you find is very often dependent on who you are, and what you think you are looking for.

  12. Clever photos and cropping. You got me. At first glance I thought you were in my beloved canyon country. Perception--we can see what we want to. Nicely done!
