Your shot of Peterhouse College really caught my eye. I love the way the light is working through the arches. The peeling paint is pretty nice, too. What a contrast from the stateliness of the college!
Quite a collection, John. The "love song" shot is timely; the frogs are all singing their love songs at the moment. Jim
I read a mystery last week with a Cambridge setting and the Backs were mentioned as a good place to walk and think--or so they might have been in the 1930's of the book. Nice to add these real life photos to the mental images conjured by the writer.I suspect the layout of all these grand courts and buildings would be daunting to me--no sense of direction!
I love that college shot, John... it is so inviting!
The first is especially beautiful, - so painterly...
Lovely photographs John. Why is it that the peeling paint looks so very attractive whereas if it were on my own front door I would hate it?
The light in the first photo is wonderful - and, of course, the buildings themselves are nothing to sneeze at. The peeling paint reminds me of the bark on my ninebark bushes.
Those are all good--Peterhouse College photo is a feast of lines, shadows and textures--lots to explore there. I really like the peeling paint, too...
I love the lighting on the Peterhouse College photo. outstanding!
So true - outstanding!!You really know how to bring storys to your photos!
I'm pleased that top pic didn't get away John ....it's a delightful peek at the inner courts of this famous establishment..
It is amazing what lurks on a hard-disk. My favourite must be the last one. Or maybe the first :-)
WOW! What a wonderful find! The first photo makes me want to be there. The lighting appeals to me very much.
I have a friend I used to visit in cambridgea lovely city for sure.. I always liked it....strangely enough I never liked oxford!
Lovely photo of Peterhouse John.
I’m glad that such beautiful and interesting photos as these were not forgotten completely. How happy the students are to be able to learn in such a beautiful buildings! I’d like to be in Peterhouse College in person.
The peeling paint looks like eucalyptus bark. Bravo!
Thanks, everybody. Nothing strange about not liking Oxford, John!
